In 1964, while a guest at the Christian Science Benevolent Association...
In 1964, while a guest at the Christian Science Benevolent Association Sanatorium in San Francisco, I had an outstanding healing. I went to the Reading Room to study the Christian Science Quarterly Lesson-Sermon. Upon opening my purse to get my glasses I found that they were not there. I had never forgotten my glasses before, and I found myself listening to the argument of mortal mind saying, "How can you read without your glasses?" I replied, "As the reflection of God, I can see," and immediately my vision was clear and I saw plainly.
In the evening I went to the telephone booth to make a call to talk with my nephew. I turned the pages of the telephone book for his address. Again mortal mind began to clamor for recognition and argued, "How can you see such fine print?" "I shall see," said I, and much to my delight I was able to see with no effort whatsoever. Since that time I have not felt the need of wearing glasses; in fact, I do not possess any.
When I am a guest at the Benevolent Association, I feel that I am in a new world. In that atmosphere of love I am born anew. Everything I observe, the beautiful trees, flowers, grass, whisper to me, "God is Love."
