Utilizing Divine Power

A power generator does not create energy, but it makes available in usable form the natural energy that is always present.

Similarly, the power of God, good, is made available to heal human discords through Christian Science. This Science teaches that God, divine Love, is the one, infinite, creative power, and that this divine power is as available today as it was in the time of Christ Jesus. Through scientific prayer, or treatment, this spiritual power can be effectively demonstrated in healing the sick and in destroying sin and even death, as the Master did.

What was the source of Jesus' extraordinary power? The Saviour himself explained that the power from which he derived his unique ability to heal was not personal. He said, "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise."^{John 5:19;}
