Mary Baker Eddy comments (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 194), "How many to-day believe that the power of God equals even the power of a drug to heal the sick!" I would like to relate how the application of Christian Science proved the power of God in my experience and changed my whole life.
A number of years ago I suffered from acute rheumatoid arthritis. I pursued the only course I knew at that time to alleviate my suffering and visited a famous clinic in the Midwest. I went through numerous tests and interviews for a week, and then the final review and verdict were given. A panel of doctors told me that my treatment would be in special diet and restricted physical activities but I could not hope for a cure. They said, "If you are looking for a cure here, you are looking in the wrong direction." I returned home in total discouragement.
