UPWARD WAY
The way is steep but beautiful;
I need not fear the slip or sudden fall,
knowing that if I stay
upon the path and do not stray,
I'll reach the place prepared for me
and there behold His All.
The way is rough. He holds my hand.
Obedience brings me to the promised land,
if trusting, loving, disciplined,
my every thought and action
prove I understand.
Oh no, it's not too rough, too steep.
Truth strengthens as I pray—
"Come, walk in it! Fear not!
This is the way."
