Christian Science teaches that our experience is a result of our thinking. Mental conclusions we accept as true or real make themselves manifest as human conditions. The fact that correct thinking, that is, thinking aligned with the Christ, Truth, heals bodily ailments and corrects inharmonious situations has been proven many times in my experience.
For several years after my introduction to Christian Science, periodic glimpses of the truths it teaches resulted in healing. An early instance of healing was that of hives. This condition persisted for several days, but the healing came instantly when critical attitudes were exposed and replaced with true concepts of God and His pure idea, man. A more practical understanding of Christian Science has eliminated the annual occurrence of colds and influenza.
When problems have not quickly yielded to my own prayerful work, more experienced workers and practitioners have come to my aid. A Christian Science practitioner was called for help in overcoming a severe cold. It did not occur to me to mention that a cyst had appeared on my neck and was daily increasing in size. But while I was being helped with the problem of the cold, the cyst opened and passed off. It was clearly evident that mental surgery had taken place.
