Women in the World: A Man's View
The major restriction from which we all need to be liberated is the belief that anyone—man or woman—needs to be liberated. This belief is wrong because humanity is not in bondage to anything except ignorance, and ignorance is not something; it is a belief in the absence of something. In general, women don't need to be liberated; they need to be discovered.
Of course, women everywhere should be properly respected, employed, appreciated, and paid. The legal and other steps required to encourage this must be taken.
I have been observing women for some decades now with affection, gratitude, delight, and admiration. Since I married one of them, my life has been enriched, strengthened, and illumined. I have worked with women as colleagues, subordinate to some, in authority over others. When given equal opportunity in human affairs, women make incomparable contributions to business, the arts, the professions, every field of constructive human activity. They do this by using their own strong and lovely gifts in their own way, by being themselves, their whole, incomparable selves.
