As a student of Christian Science I have had so much proof of its efficacy that gratitude impels me to express it.
I had been smoking for twenty years, and for a shorter time attending a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. I wished to break the smoking habit but seemed unable to do so. During a week's illness with sinus trouble I was healed through the help of a Christian Science practitioner. She asked if I smoked. I replied that I did. However, I never did again. The manner of this healing was a miracle to me. I had tried to stop many times, with negative results, but now I forgot to smoke. Temptation would assail me for a short period. I would pray, as instructed, and then the thought of smoking would leave me completely. This continued, with the intervals between temptations lengthening into days, weeks, and months.
During this period it never occurred to me that anything strange was happening. In retrospect it was as though, as far as smoking was concerned, it had been blotted out of my consciousness. Most of the time I was completely shielded from thinking about it; and finally I awakened somewhat as did Peter in the Bible account when, in prison, the chains fell off him. It was reported that as he came to the gates of the city he said (Acts 12:11), "Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me."
Other experiences of God's guidance and care occurred when I had advanced well into the so-called middle-age bracket and was an officer of a small corporation. It became apparent that due to a deterioration of the business I would have to make a change. Having prepared my thought with truths learned in daily study of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, I had no fear that I might not find my right place.
A year after joining my new company I was informed that the firm was moving to New Jersey. We had had a beautiful home for a number of years, so our first thoughts were negative. We soon decided to leave our thinking open for Truth's guidance. The thought occurred that if this was the right move we should be able to find a home comparable to the former one. After turning to God for guidance, we found a more desirable home than the one we were leaving, not what we had outlined, but one that has more than fulfilled our every need. Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 167) "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." Everything about this move, in every small detail, showed the perfect operation of divine Principle and Love. We have never been happier than we are in our new home.
There have been many other healings, both physical and otherwise, for which I am grateful. Nothing could ever convince me that the truth as set forth by Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health and in her other writings is not the final revelation of Truth and the ultimate way of life for all mankind.

I wish to verify my husband's testimony. In respect to his healing of the smoking habit, I can only say that once he saw something during his talk with the practitioner, I never remember that he smoked again. It seems that he was a smoker, and then he was a nonsmoker. The circumstances of our moving I also recall clearly. We were certainly protected, guided, and enriched.
