Watching from "afar off"

Letting our children go out into the world today seems a greater challenge than ever before. Do it we must! But certainly we all need a reassuring awareness of the presence and power of God, good, everywhere to enable us to do this with a sense of peace.

In the Lord's Prayer, given to us by Christ Jesus, the great Teacher and Way-shower, God is addressed as "Our Father which art in heaven." Matt. 6:9; In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy interprets these words as follows: "Our Father-Mother God, all-harmonious." Science and Health, p. 16; Christian Science teaches that this Father-Mother God is Love—omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient.

As we study this Science, we begin to understand that since Love is always present, wherever our children are they are with Love. Therefore they are always being cherished. We human parents love and wish to protect our children, but how much more does Love itself love and wish to protect them!
