When Christian Science was first presented to me, it was my privilege to be released from the fears of what seemed to be certain death. Although I did not quite realize it at the time, many of my friends were coming in groups to see me for the last time. I had been bedridden for five months, taking pills on the doctor's orders to keep up the heart action.
At this point a dear friend of the family asked me to try Christian Science healing. She left with me a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I read it in conjunction with the Bible and soon put my faith in God.
I was then able to rise from the sickbed, clothe myself, and walk slowly a distance of about a mile to see a Christian Science practitioner. I was so relieved by the first Christian Science treatment that I hurried home to continue prayerful study. During the first treatment I had been instantly healed.
