It is with a humble, grateful heart for all of the good I have...
It is with a humble, grateful heart for all of the good I have received from the study and application of Christian Science that I give the following testimony. All my life I have had the benefit of Christian Science. My parents relied completely on God's loving care in raising their six children. All so-called childhood diseases were healed by applying the truth. If my parents were unable to overcome a problem themselves, they contacted a Christian Science practitioner to help us.
When I was young, I did not realize how much help the whole family received from this great religion, Christian Science. But as I grew older, I began to turn wholeheartedly to God to overcome the trials that beset me.
One of my first healings was that of acute appendicitis. For almost a week I was unable to sleep or eat with any comfort. There was a great deal of fear to be destroyed, and in my extremity I asked to be taken to the practitioner's home. When we arrived, after driving 120 miles, I was very weak and filled with despair. The practitioner met us at the door and spoke quietly but firmly, "You are God's perfect child." She told me not to be afraid, since all was well, and to lie down and sleep. I did not see how I would be able to after so many sleepless nights, but no sooner had my head touched the pillow than I was asleep. I slept undisturbed for about an hour. When I awoke, I knew that I was healed, and I thanked God for His guidance and love.
