RICKY AND THE JUNCO
The redbirds and blue jays looked very bright and gay perched in the snow-covered trees as Ricky watched them from the big picture window in his living room.
A little black bird with a snowy white breast flew past. Mother called them juncos or snowbirds. Ricky liked to see them come because it meant snow time.
He was just parking his green pickup truck under the chair, when he heard a loud thump. It sounded like a stone hitting the window. He and his mother rushed outside.
