The Majesty of Man

How often do we think of the word "majesty" in connection with ourselves? Are we aware of the magnitude of our true being? Or do we move in an uninspired routine, in a mediocre, limited sphere?

In Christian Science we touch spiritual majesty whenever we express an aspect of the divine nature. Vitality, excellence, scope—such qualities seen in their true light reveal God-given stature. Aristotle once spoke of the highest human happiness involving "the exercise of vital powers along lines of excellence in a life affording them scope." Nicomachean Ethics, X, vii, 15, 16, paraphrased in Edith Hamilton by Doris F. Reid, p. 52; When linked with Godlike grace, such action lifts us above pettiness and mental penury, beyond crippling doubt and frustration. Each moment of Christliness adds spiritual greatness to our lives.

What is it that keeps us from finding our God-endowed majesty? Among the many obstructing forces are fear, will, and disdain.
