"A daily rate for every day"

A king's kindness in freely providing for the needs of one who had formerly been his prisoner is noted in II Kings: "His allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life." II Kings 25:30; How well this typifies the ceaseless outpouring of abundance with which God supplies every need of His beloved children!

A present realization and enjoyment of this abundance may be gained through the study and application of Christian Science, which reveals the true nature of supply as spiritual and infinite. But as long as one believes the source of his supply to be money—paycheck, investments, bank balance—his supply will be finite and limited, subject to loss or fluctuation, diminished by inflation or recession through circumstances seemingly beyond his control. The fear of lack presents one of the most acute and aggressive phases of mortal thought. But how comforting is the assurance that every problem of supply, however urgent or crucial, can be worked out in Christian Science!

What then is the true nature of supply if it does not consist of money? Mrs. Eddy gives the satisfying and comforting answer: "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies. Never ask for to-morrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need ever moment." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 307; In Christian Science, God, Spirit, Mind, divine Love, is understood to be the only real substance, reflected by man, His image and likeness, in intelligent ideas. These ideas, when entertained and utilized, will reveal the solution to every human problem in a way appreciable to one's present sense of need.
