"Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation" (Ps. 68:19). This verse from Psalms describes my gratitude for the benefits I have known since childhood because of Christian Science. Many physical healings have been experienced, and problems related to employment and supply have been solved through the application of the truths taught by this demonstrable religion.

While I was a student in the Christian Science Sunday School, I had an instantaneous healing of a cold through reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The immediate transformation from sniffles and sneezing to normalcy resulted from insight into the meaning of this passage (ibid., p. 336): "God, the divine Principle of man, and man in God's likeness are inseparable, harmonious, and eternal." This healing deepened my faith and has been a lasting inspiration.

During this same period I was healed of what was apparently appendicitis. A practitioner, who was also my Sunday School teacher, helped me in accomplishing this healing. Another Sunday School teacher corrected my limited thinking that I could not attend college because my father had passed on. But the way opened up, so that I eventually qualified for a teaching credential.
