Mrs. Eddy writes (Science and Health, p. 390), "It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony."

Through the patience, love, and understanding of a dear friend I was encouraged to see a Christian Science practitioner. At this time it had become necessary for me to resign my position in the business world because of a crippling condition which caused my head to drop to one shoulder, and one of my feet to drag. After numerous consultations I was informed by the medical faculty that I could not return to work. I was also told that according to the records of others we could expect the condition to become worse. I was very depressed, fearful, low in finances, and in deep sorrow because of the passing on of my sister and father within five week's time. In fact, I just didn't see any reason to continue living.

The practitioner was understanding, patient, and kind. Before becoming a student of Christian Science I had always turned to God in prayer and had many prayers answered, but at this time, due to erroneous thinking, I felt completely separated from God.
