"He had another spirit with him"

The purpose of prayerful metaphysical work is a holy purpose. It is intended to uplift human thought to the apprehension of spiritual facts. It is to justify God's position in every situation, not mortal man's. As fear and self-will are set aside for a more consecrated desire to be obedient to God in every case, the outward need for direction, wisdom, love, and progress will be met.

The greatest detriment to a student of Christian Science is to doubt the efficacy of the metaphysics his prayer employs. Why perform metaphysical work if one does not fully expect results? Rom. 13:1; And Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, states in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, "In Science, you can have no power opposed to God, and the physical senses must give up their false testimony." Science and Health, p. 192;
