"He had another spirit with him"

The purpose of prayerful metaphysical work is a holy purpose. It is intended to uplift human thought to the apprehension of spiritual facts. It is to justify God's position in every situation, not mortal man's. As fear and self-will are set aside for a more consecrated desire to be obedient to God in every case, the outward need for direction, wisdom, love, and progress will be met.

The greatest detriment to a student of Christian Science is to doubt the efficacy of the metaphysics his prayer employs. Why perform metaphysical work if one does not fully expect results? It matters not whether that metaphysical work is for clearing up the mortal claim of a sick body, a sick business or home, or a sick church. One must be fully willing to trust divine justice and judgment to supersede human outlining, to let Truth take him by the hand and lead him to more exalted apprehensions, though these may be completely contrary to preconceived opinions about a given situation.
