Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 144), "When the Science of being is universally understood, every man will be his own physician, and Truth will be the universal panacea." This wonderful goal is possible of attainment.

My parents became interested in Christian Science when I was about fifteen years old. I had the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School until I was twenty. My Sunday School teacher was a consecrated Christian Science practitioner, and I am convinced that her good prayerful preparatory work for the class helped protect me from the temptations associated with adolescence. I give full credit to Christian Science for freedom from social smoking and drinking which, as now, seemed to be the accepted vogue in the middle twenties.

I married at the age of twenty and did very little to further my understanding of Christian Science until after the passing on of our first child. I then realized that I must make some effort to learn more of God and of man in His likeness.
