The words In this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY designated to be read in Christian Science churches on June 21, 1970.

The wilderness of Kadesh (Ps. 29:8) Kadesh, sometimes called Kadesh-Barnea, is considered to have been an important oasis in the north Sinai desert, playing a significant part in the wide wanderings of the Israelites on their way to Canaan. It was the scene of Moses striking the rock and obtaining an abundant supply of water (see Num. 20:1-11).

I . . . have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded (Isa. 45:12)

"The host of heaven" was a phrase often used by the Hebrews with reference to the sun, moon, stars, and other heavenly bodies. This may well be the implication at this point.
