Christian Science is the dearest thing in life to me
Christian Science is the dearest thing in life to me. It has helped me begin to know myself as I am known of God, and to look for the image and likeness of God in others. It has brought beauty and light into my experience that I had not known before.
It has been a deep comfort and joy to learn in a degree to trust my children to the ever–present, perfect care of their Father–Mother God. After the experience of reliance on material medicine, I deeply appreciate the pure, wholesome method of Christian Science healing. My sincere desire to give up fear and anxious care and to trust God absolutely has brought healing to my children many times.
When I was very new in Science, my daughter was ill with a fever. At that time I had a great fear of fever and a burdened sense of responsibility toward her. As I was worrying more than helping her, I called a Christian Science practitioner. I don't remember what she said, but the truth she voiced replaced my fear with joyous peace and assurance. Although the fever did not abate for approximately twenty–four hours, I was completely free of worry, and happy about her immediately. I know now that I was beginning to leave my false sense of things and rejoice in what God knows. It was one of the most precious experiences I have ever had to find I could be free from fear in the midst of what had a moment before held such torment for me. That is one of the happiest days I can remember. What could make one happier than to know the truth of man! When my husband came home, he mentioned that I was radiant and glowing. The child was soon well.
