Loving Fully and Wisely
The ideal man, originating in God, divine Love, and reflecting His attributes, can do no less than love. This is man's destiny and being. Love is a quality originating in God, not in a person, and we must establish in consciousness the realization that we possess it by reflection, just as we do every other capability native to our true selfhood.
Mrs. Eddy, who discovered and founded Christian Science, so thoroughly understood God as Love and man as His reflection that her nature individualized Love. It was as natural for her to love as to breathe. This state of consciousness was manifest in her extraordinary healing ability.
Mrs. Eddy asked the students in her last class the best way to do instantaneous healing. After hearing many replies she answered, as one of the students remembered: "I will tell you the way to do it. It is to love! Just live love—be it—love, love, love. Do not know anything but Love. Be all love. There is nothing else. That will do the work. It will heal everything; it will raise the dead. Be nothing but love." We Knew Mary Baker Eddy, Second Series, pp. 49, 50; How many of us have yearned to demonstrate this total commitment to love!
