Tapping the Energies of Mind

A weak, weary, run-down physical body is a sad misrepresentation of the real man that divine Mind creates, sustains, and activates. Christian Science can show any earnest inquirer the way to tap the infinite reservoir of vital, living energy that comes from God, and thus refresh and replenish his present human sense of life.

Because of its inseparable oneness, or unity, with ever-active, ever-conscious divine Mind, the real identity of man is eternally nourished and strengthened with divine qualities and attributes. As one strives to express mercy, justice, wisdom, purity, in his daily life, and consciously recognizes their source in God, he ratifies his unity with the divine, and feels the resurgence of power that they impart. The Bible promises, "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."^{Isa. 40:31;}

Strength and stamina seem to drain away because we entertain the basic error that man is a physical organism of limited capacity actuated by a personal, brain-centered mind. This concept leaves the inseparable relationship of God and man entirely out of the picture, and in belief ignorantly severs the individual from the source of his being. It seems to set him adrift as a defenseless mortal in a soulless cosmos where weariness, sickness, sin, and death are not the exception but the rule.
