Accepting God as Our Physician

Failure to put God first in individual affection is perhaps the largest single factor in keeping mankind from accepting God as their only physician. To one instructed in the teachings of Christian Science, the acceptance of God as his Physician is a way of life based on a spiritual approach to his problems.

He understands that his health and happiness emanate from God, and that health and well-being depend not on something he has to get but on something he already possesses. The acknowledgment that one already has all the good a loving Father can bestow enables one to see that his freedom from discord does not lie in getting something to make him healthy or in finding someone to make him happy. His harmony depends upon his acceptance of man's perfection as a child of God. He demonstrates this perfection in the overcoming of sorrow, sin, and sickness.
