Our children are fourth generation Christian Scientists, and the blessings we have shared through the teachings of this demonstrable Science have been abundant.

When I was a college student, I became concerned, as do many, about whom to marry. I lived in a small Kansas town, and there were no college-age boys enrolled in our Sunday School or attending our church. I felt that I wished my marriage to be built on a firm foundation of spiritual values, but the chances of meeting a fellow Christian Scientist seemed bleak.

One evening I was particularly concerned about this and realized that I had not applied the teachings of Christian Science to the problem. I turned aside from my academic studies long enough to pray to clarify my thinking. It seemed very clear to me that, as Mary Baker Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 494), "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need. ' I saw that my desire to marry a student of Christian Science was not a frivolous want but a need. I turned back to my schoolwork with a deep sense of peace and satisfaction that the need would be met.
