Once again I have found that Christian Science, the Science of Christ, is universal and can be practiced anywhere, any time and under any circumstances. Daily study of the Christian Science Quarterly Lesson-Sermon gives us a unity of strength, thought, and action. Through it we understand that, in reality, there are no racial, political, economic, social, or linguistic barriers, because Christian Science abolishes them. Christian Science has been of great benefit to me while I have lived in the United States as a scholarship winner of the American Field Service.

When I first enrolled in this program in September, 1967, I had the thought that it would be right for me to go to the United States. I had convinced myself that it was God's will for me to go to America; but, in fact, it was my own human will which I was calling God's will. I received a letter from the American Field Service saying that I would have to stay home because they had found no family for me to stay with. I was a bit disappointed by this response, but I kept in mind the thought that I might have another opportunity to visit the United States.

One month later I received another letter containing my scholarship award for a year of study in America. The only reason I have found for such a change is the fact that after having received the first letter I became entirely receptive and yielded my strong personal desire. This situation did not disappoint me too much, and I had no resentment toward the American Field Service. When the fulfillment came, it proved to me that the solution of a problem is always present when considered in the proper light.
