Words of Current Interest

The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY designated to be read in Christian Science churches on February 8, 1970.

It shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh(Acts 2:17)

Both Isaiah(2:2) and Micah (4:1) speak of "the last days," apparently in the sense of the days of the Messiah and the completion of his work on earth. In Acts, Peter identifies "the last days" with the descent of the Holy Ghost (or Holy Spirit) on "the day of Pentecost"(Acts 2:1), citing the prophet Joel. (See Joel 2:28-32.)

The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Rev. 19:10)
