At one time I had many duties and responsibilities—domestic, civic, and religious. It seemed that I was constantly on the go, and I had accepted the subtle belief that unaided I myself was doing all these things. To this pressure I unconsciously reacted with resentment. Then pains and aches began to appear in my right shoulder.
In the midst of all this I tried to heal the problem with my own metaphysical work. Finally I called a Christian Science practitioner. After talking with me she immediately detected and disclosed to me the hidden resentment I was entertaining. This was negating my divine heritage of freedom and harmony.
We affirmed the truth of God's allness and perfection and of my perfection as His wholly spiritual idea. We saw that I dwelt ever in divine Mind, not in a physical body, as the five physical senses wanted to claim. We reviewed Jesus' positive statement, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). We saw with further clarity that "a spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 463).
