As a lifelong Christian Scientist I could fill many pages with the healings and blessings which have come into my experience during school and college and in the few years following graduation from college. It is a testimony to the preventative and curative power of Christian Science that most of my years in school showed perfect or near perfect attendance records.
A healing of whooping cough, which the school nurse felt was complicated by pneumonia, has always been a special inspiration to me and my family. The school officials felt that several months would be needed for full recuperation, but I missed only two weeks of school, at the end of which time I returned, completely healed, to take final examinations and college entrance tests. These tests showed that no loss had resulted from the absence from school.
Thanks to Christian Science, my four years in college were rich and meaningful. Loneliness, homesickness, and fear of failure in my studies argued loudly to me during my freshman year, but these were gradually silenced through realizing that man is forever companioned by all the ideas of God, that man is always at home in the consciousness of divine Love, and that man is "the full representation of Mind" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 591), incapable of failure.
