Christian Science has been to me the greatest blessing in my life, and I have experienced many beautiful healings. One outstanding healing occurred when I was traveling to England with a two-year-old daughter and a twelve-year-old son.

My little daughter accidentally fell from one deck of the ship to another. I lifted her up unconscious and carried her down to the cabin. Fellow passengers crowded into the cabin, and the captain sent the ship's doctor. The child had all the appearances of death, with fixed glassy eyes and a deathly pallor. The doctor was very kind, and very gently he told me that there was no hope for the child. I asked to be left alone, and before leaving, the doctor said, "Send for me later, when you will need me."

As soon as I was alone, I handed the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, to my son and asked him to hold to the truth; then I turned to the Lord's Prayer with its spiritual interpretation, found in the textbook. When I came to these words (p. 16):
