I should like to tell of a healing I had several years ago. I have always been a student of Christian Science. My hands have always been busy with many projects, such as writing, sewing, drawing, and playing the piano and organ. At the time of this experience I was doing drafting for a small company, and there was much complaining around me among the workers about the exacting work the job entailed. I was trying to keep my thought on the level of seeing only good in whatever I had to do.

One day as I was painting outlines in colored ink, the brush fell from my fingers and nearly smeared the drawing. I picked up the brush with my left hand because my right hand was numb and would not grip the brush. I said nothing to anyone but stayed quietly at my table the rest of the day, knowing that all was well regardless of evidence to the contrary. No one noticed my difficulty. Upon arriving home I told my husband of the problem and prepared dinner and ate principally with my left hand. My husband, who is a devoted Christian Scientist, encouraged me.

The next morning was Saturday, and I called a Christian Science practitioner, who told me, "Drop everything and I'll help you."
