Mrs. Eddy states in Science and Health (p. 496), "Your fruits will prove what the understanding of God brings to man." What a joyous privilege it is to be able to testify to the "fruits" that have been mine since I joined a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, six years ago! These include guidance, protection, physical healing, the healing of grief, and a new way of thinking and living.
As a natural outgrowth of branch church membership, I soon joined The Mother Church and had class instruction. Class instruction gave me a firm foundation on which to stand so that the various human problems that have presented themselves have become opportunities to prove the effectiveness of God's all-power and presence. Cherished milestones of spiritual growth are the help of Christian Science practitioners when I have needed it and, especially, the guidance and counsel of my teacher.
During these six years I have gradually grown into some understanding of Christian Science as the Comforter. In the recent passing of my husband after years of devoted affection and companionship, love, human and divine, came to me from every direction. My needs were met spontaneously, lovingly, whether they were for metaphysical help, legal help, financial advice, or help in maintaining my house and garden. As Mrs. Eddy states in Science and Health (p. 346), "There are no vacuums." The same love expressed by my husband continues with me in many ways. In my daily contacts with others I keep finding the same spiritual qualities he expressed. Love's giving is everywhere. I am not, and cannot be, deprived of ever-present Love.
