Words are unable to express my deep gratitude for all Christian Science has done for me and my family. When my mother passed on several years ago, I experienced an instantaneous healing of grief through study of Mrs. Eddy's writings. So complete was the healing that I could perform my duty as soloist at Christian Science Sunday services without interruption.

During the years we have had many healings, some of which stand out to me. My youngest son had a fever one morning and stayed in bed. I reminded him that his Sunday School teacher had asked him the previous Sunday to learn by heart the "Daily Prayer" by Mrs. Eddy in the Manual of The Mother Church. This he did, and we discussed every word of it together. It took some time, but at last he called me and said, "Now I know it entirely, Mama." And he said it to me aloud (Art. VIII, Sect. 4): " 'Thy kingdom come;' let the reign of divine Truth, Life, and Love be established in me, and rule out of me all sin; and may Thy Word enrich the affections of all mankind, and govern them!" Then we perceived that the fever had gone. Some weeks afterward, when he had a cold, I asked him to say the "Daily Prayer" to me and to realize its meaning. When he had finished, the cold had disappeared.

We have experienced many cases of protection, one of which I want to relate. One evening, while serving as First Reader, I had to drive to my weekly rehearsal. It suddenly began to snow heavily, and the roads were icy. My husband and I had to drive along a heavily traveled road. The car began slipping and zigzagged across the road. Without touching anything we came to a stop at last on a cycle path, going in the opposite direction. The subject of the current Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly that gave us a sense of safety was "God the Only Cause and Creator."
