LIGHTS BURNING

If my candle is bright on its stick—not shrouded
Under a bushel of nonessentials;
If I'm certain to see that my days are uncrowded—
Not dimming my beam with inconsequentials—

Then the glow from within will keep shining through,
And others will seek the illumined way too.
