MORE BLESSED TO GIVE

I used to pray for blessings—
Blessings that would assure
My peace—make my world secure
In my private little nest.
But thank you, gracious Master,
For teaching love and stressing
That peace is gained by blessing—
And that in blessing we are blessed.

Dissatisfied with worldliness,
We turn our thoughts to godliness
And learn, at last, that happiness
Is gained through Christly selflessness.

The greatest blessing is to bless!
