It is with deep and sincere gratitude that I write this testimony

It is with deep and sincere gratitude that I write this testimony. I became deaf in one ear. I earnestly tried to heal myself of this limitation. One thought that came to me was from the book of Proverbs (20: 12): "The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them." Another was from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 585): "Ears. Not organs of the so-called corporeal senses, but spiritual understanding." As I prayed and worked with these two statements, the healing came. It was a year before I was free. I often felt discouraged, but always some uplifting angel message came to me to inspire my thought. I learned that man's faculties are not at the mercy of material sense or condition. I do not know just when the healing came, but suddenly it seemed as though people were shouting.

Another healing I would like to share was the healing of a condition of the eyes. One morning I appeared not to be able to see clearly. I tried to read the Christian Science Quarterly Lesson-Sermon but was unable to focus. I then telephoned a Christian Science practitioner for help to support my own prayers. Treatment was promptly given. So effective was the treatment that in a matter of minutes I could joyfully exclaim, "I can see!" And with great joy and gratitude I went on studying the lesson.

These are but two of the many healings I have received in Christian Science. I am very grateful for the healing Christ. Each healing brings us nearer divine Love. For the comfort and strength that sustained me on the sudden passing of my husband, and for the love shown me at this testing time by my many dear friends, I am sincerely grateful.
