When I became seriously ill with a nervous breakdown about ten years ago, I was unable to eat or sleep. Finally I went to a doctor, and he gave me a bottle of tranquilizers and pink pills to encourage my appetite. Being unable to do my housework, I managed to run an advertisement in our local newspaper for domestic help. That night I turned to God and prayed desperately that He send me someone I could lean upon.

Two days later, while I was in the doctor's office getting an injection, a woman with a pleasant face came to our house in answer to the advertisement. When I came home, I found her in the living room talking to my husband, who had been recently released from the hospital with a cast still on his leg. The moment I saw her I knew my prayer had been answered, and I hired her on the spot.

Although I had plenty of help, my condition did not improve. One night, soon after our evening meal, I was sitting in the living room, more unhappy than ever, when the housekeeper came in. Turning to her, I said, "I'm afraid I'll never be well again."
