Spiritual Healing Is Not Miraculous

From time immemorial, for the most part, humanity has accepted the testimony of the physical senses without question. It has viewed the cosmos as a vast edifice of material objects and things, always believing that these phenomena are substantive reality, totally independent of the mind beholding them.

Christian Science is bringing about a revolution in world thought. Slowly but surely it is reeducating the human race to understand the mental nature of all things. It is awakening mankind to the fact that matter is not substance at all but is picturized mortal mind, a counterfeit sense of the vast universe of Spirit, which has been, is, and ever will be the only reality.

In The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, Mary Baker Eddy writes: "Matter is but the subjective state of mortal mind. Matter has no more substance and reality in our day-dreams than it has in our night-dreams. All the way mortals are experiencing the Adam-dream of mind in matter, the dream which is mortal and God-condemned and which is not the spiritual fact of being."^{My., p. 109;}
