The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place (Ps. 68:17)
There is much uncertainty among scholars as to the meaning of the Hebrew at this point. Sinai was, of course, the mountain where Moses received the commandments. May it not be that the power and protection associated with the Lord on that great occasion is now considered transferred to "the holy place" of Mount Zion at Jerusalem?
