War Will Be Abolished!
Never has there been so much rebellion against the antiquated custom of settling world differences by destroying one another. Today's world yearns for peace.
However, reliance on spiritual understanding of the omnipotence and omnipresence of God and transformation of character are all that can permanently solve national as well as individual distresses. The wise student of Christian Science recognizes that it is a mistake to rely merely on human statesmanship or material weapons for maintaining world peace. Any doubt about the effectiveness of spiritual procedures has to be faced and overcome.
Christ Jesus prophesied the disturbing events we see taking place in the world today, and he also gave us the solution for these problems. In the twenty-first chapter of Luke Jesus speaks of upheaval and commotion, nation rising against nation, famine and pestilence. The prophecy concludes with this promise: "Then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." Luke 21:27, 28;
