It is indeed a privilege to be able to express gratitude for Christian Science
It is indeed a privilege to be able to express gratitude for Christian Science. By working to follow its teachings, my life has been changed, lack has been overcome, and many physical healings have resulted. With each healing has come a degree of spiritual growth, and this testimony relates the first of such healings.
About sixteen years ago a serious stomach and intestinal disorder presented itself. Because of a great amount of fear, sleep was impossible, and it seemed certain that each night would be my last. In my troubled state of mind, I consulted different doctors. While each was kind and tried to be helpful, none of them presented a satisfactory solution. Medicines were prescribed and designated as a very necessary part of existence for the rest of my life. The directions were carefully followed, with no improvement; in fact, the physical state became worse.
My wife had been a Christian Scientist since early Sunday School years; and after seeing that I was losing all trust in medicine, she recommended her religion for my serious condition. Because of my years of opposition to what I thought Science was, there was doubt about possible good or healing in it; but the point had been reached where I was willing to try anything.
