If and Because
We wouldn't say, If God is good. He is good, and we know it. But we can say, Because God is good. And we can add, All must be good, for He is All. And because of what God is, evil cannot exist.
When we are discussing a human situation, the word "if" is appropriate, for the human is not perfect. But if an individual strives for perfection, he can attain it because the truth of God's allness overpowers the error of belief in evil's existence.
Christian Science teaches that man is the reflection, or idea, of divine Mind, God, good. Each of us, therefore, is actually perfect because Mind is perfect. But we gain the demonstration of perfection if, and only if, we are willing to accept this truth and to utilize the power it gives us. If we deny evil and affirm good, and if we understand that we are doing this because evil is unreal and good is real, we demonstrate what is true. Then because man reflects the health of perfect Mind, sickness is healed.
