Theology and Its Proof

Theology is a very live subject in our times. There will be agitation among Christian theologians until they all come to accept theology they can prove. A truth is always provable. And a theology should be provable because it concerns God who is Truth itself, a God of truth and without iniquity," Deut. 32:4; as is stated early in the Bible.

A point in theology should be much more than a human belief; if it is a truth, it holds within itself the power to demonstrate what it teaches. Christ Jesus, the greatest theologian of all time, not only stated spiritual truths but proved what he taught. He affirmed God's love as the Father's affection for His children and then proved that love by healing sickness and destroying both sin and its consequences.

Jesus described himself to his opponents as "a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God." John 8:40; At this point he stated what is so important to his theology, namely, that there is no truth in the devil, or evil—that "he is a liar, and the father of it." Near the end of his successful ministry he said to Pilate: "To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice." 18:37;
