The Law of Love Brings Order

A sense of lawlessness seems to be gripping the world. What is it that claims to drive people to be disobedient and destructive? Is not one factor their misconception of law?

Mrs. Eddy discusses both spiritual and material law in most of her writings. In Science and Health she states: "The definitions of material law, as given by natural science, represent a kingdom necessarily divided against itself, because these definitions portray law as physical, not spiritual. Therefore they contradict the divine decrees and violate the law of Love, in which nature and God are one and the natural order of heaven comes down to earth."^{Science and Health, p. 118;} Is it not evident then that to obtain order and peace and a more united kingdom here on earth we must endeavor to gain the true, spiritual sense of law and to communicate this concept to mankind?

In Christian Science we learn that Love and Principle are one and the same. They are synonyms for God. Law comes from divine Principle and reflects the nature of Love. What a comforting thought this can be, for as the world begins to understand the close association between Love and law, its laws will reflect more of divine justice and mercy!
