During the past years I have had many beautiful healings and proofs of God's care and protection through the application of Christian Science.

One night some time ago, when I first became interested in Christian Science, I awakened with terrific pain in my ears. I paced the floor and prayed for myself to the best of my understanding. About seven o'clock in the morning I called a Christian Science practitioner and asked for help. The pain subsided almost immediately. However, I was unable to hear a sound, and there was an excessive discharge from both ears. The practitioner continued to help me through prayer.

After I had been home from the office about two weeks, the man whom I worked for called at my home. I could not hear him speak, but he made it known to me that there was a shortage of workers in the office and that he would appreciate it if it were possible for me to return to work. After he left, I reasoned something like this— "Good prayerful work has been done for me in Christian Science, and now I am needed in the office. With God's help I can do whatever it is right for me to do." The nature of my work was to take dictation, operate a dictaphone, and work at the switchboard; consequently it was necessary to be able to hear in order for me to do my work.
