God's Family
What is your family name? Based on human nationality and background this question could be answered in thousands of different ways. Yet, fundamentally, each and every one of us has a common designation, a universal heritage. We all belong to one family and have but one family name. Mary Baker Eddy says in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, "Man is the family name for all ideas,—the sons and daughters of God." Science and Health, p. 515; You and I, then, are man, God's spiritual, perfect reflection, and we are all one in the indivisible substance of divine Love.
How wonderful to realize that all men are not merely friends but actually close relatives—brothers and sisters—living in the perpetual concord of omnipotent divine law!
God's family is His universe of spiritual thoughts, or ideas. He is infinite Mind, so obviously His creation must be comprised of spiritually mental phenomena, all bearing witness to the love and harmony of the divine nature. God's children are not infantile or immature but fully developed divine concepts that have existed forever in the substance of Spirit, or Soul.
