WHO KNOWS?
Ruth 1:16
On that sad day
Three widows reached the parting of their ways.
Two went forward to a destiny unknown,
One hurried back to gods and streets
Familiar as home.
Who knows?
Perhaps had Orpah gone Naomi's way
She might have found her sorrow changed to joy
As did the gentle Ruth, who trusted and became
Ancestress to the line that led through kings
Straight to the one
Called Christ.
