I had attended Christian Science services for many years, but I was not a student of Christian Science when the following experience took place. One day something happened to my back, and I was not able to stand or walk. A doctor was called, and I was then taken to a hospital. After the doctors had made an extensive examination, X-ray pictures revealed to them a crushed disk. When I learned what treatment they thought would be necessary and when they said that surgery might or might not help the condition, I took a firm stand to rely wholly on Christian Science for healing and was immediately returned to my home.

A Christian Science practitioner was called, and she gave me treatment, encouraging me to study daily the Bible Lessons given in the Christian Science Quarterly. Inasmuch as I was confined to my bed for about three weeks, I had uninterrupted time to study Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and some of her other writings. The wonderful healing message in Hymn No. 139 in the Christian Science Hymnal begins, "I walk with Love along the way," and proved very comforting and helpful.

Soon thereafter I was able to walk comfortably, and in a short time I was entirely free from all effects of that condition. This healing took place eighteen years ago and has been permanent. This proof of God's loving care led me to church membership and to participation in church activities which has proved very rewarding. Church membership was followed by class instruction, a further blessing. My gratitude is unbounded for Christ Jesus, the Founder of Christianity, and for Mrs. Eddy, the Discovcrer and Founder of Christian Science, whose unselfed love for all mankind enabled her to receive this divine revelation.
