One Hundred Years and Forever

This year marks the one hundredth anniversary of the discovery of Christian Science by its beloved Discoverer, founder, and Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Grateful hearts the world over will ever revere her as the one who brought to them new life, new hope, and a new understanding of God.

One hundred years ago there was no Christian Science movement, no sheltering Mother Church, with its branches throughout the world. There was no Lesson-Sermon set forth in the Christian Science Quarterly to feed and heal the hungering hearts of mankind, no Christian Science literature pouring forth from The Christian Science Publishing Society, and no books of our Leader s. There were no Reading Rooms to haven those hungering for Christly quiet and spiritual food. No Christian Science Board of Lectureship, encircling the globe, carried strengthening messages to men; no teachers of Christian Science shepherded their flocks in the straight way of Truth and Love; no authorized practitioners devoted themselves to healing the sick and the sinning. Above all, there was no Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, to unlock the hidden treasures of the Bible for all mankind.

We are blessed to be living in this time when the truth of God and of man's sonship with Him has been clearly proved as a present fact. The power and care of God, divine Love, are felt, and the darkness of error and ignorance flees before the light of understanding.
