The Forward Look

The new cover, format, and content of the Sentinel proclaim the fact that Christian Science is a religion for today. This religion presents truths which have always been true and always will be true. But it also reveals the inseparability of these truths from all that is constructive and good in human life.

The message of Christian Science is, that one's life is to be lived, not escaped from. But one can live his own life only insofar as he understands eternal Life, and culls from his concept of life those things which are unreal in the eternal sense. The truths which are eternal are to be found not in retreat from the problems that confront us but in an enlightened view of those very problems.

Paul wrote, "Your life is hid with Christ in God." Col. 3:3; Jesus laid down his human life to show us the way to live in Christ, Truth. By following him in his expression of love for mankind, we find our Life, which is God. The life we think we are living when we are concerned with material self and material things is not Life, but absence of Life. In Christliness we live and realize the qualities we need in order to solve mankind's problems.
