The Good New Days
Looking back to the good old days is a happy custom if it does not get out of hand. It gets out of hand when we believe the solution of today's problems is to restore the past.
The temptation to long for conditions of the past is strong when we find ourselves facing the complexities of our rapidly changing world. It becomes stronger when we have to deal with the thinking of the generation that is now growing up in this world. But Christian Science gives one the means to resist temptation and overcome it. The Bible says (James 4:7), "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
All that is good is of God. But God's goodness is ever new. Good does not accumulate; it pours forth constantly from its source, divine Principle. It is imaged—reflected—in its idea, spiritual man.
