As a young man I was employed...
As a young man I was employed by a large manufacturing corporation. My duties in this factory brought me into physical contact with a certain raw material, and as a result of this contact I contracted a form of skin poisoning which, according to all medical opinions, was considered difficult to heal. Weeks of medical treatments and many medicines failed to help. Resort to X-ray treatments produced no improvement.
At this time I knew but very little about Christian Science. Our aunt, through effective prayer in Science, had healed my brother of a liver malady. In my extremity I turned to this aunt for some assurance that I too could be healed. She offered to pray for me as we are taught to pray in Science.
Her treatment was so effective that within three days the healing started to take place. In less than two weeks all signs of the poison had vanished, never to return. That was more than thirty years ago. I am genuinely grateful for this experience. It was the awakening that brought me to embrace our wonderful religion.
